Albarka Health Spring Foundation (AHSF) is a non-governmental organization dully registered with Nigerian government through Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT NO: 91613). Existing since October 2016, AHSF focuses on improving the quality of life of vulnerable population across communities in Northeast Nigeria. AHSF operates both in emergency and developmental context and have its program principally rooted in identifying gaps that affects population or increases vulnerability of population and bridging those gaps through resource base planning and implementation.

1.) Risk Communication Officer

Location: Borno

Minimum Requirements
Education:

  • Advanced University Degree in Journalism, International Relations, Public Relations, Communications or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or specialised trainings/courses.

Experience:

  • 3 years working in INGO, NGO or Private Media at least 1 year of which should be communications for Nutrition programming.
  • At least one year of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience as a journalist or communications/public information officer.
  • Development of information strategies and programmes;

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Sound theoretical understanding of Communications concepts and principles with a broad knowledge of best practices, techniques and processes and specialized knowledge in a specific area;
  • Knowledge of common business principles and processes and the ability to quickly assimilate AHSF and NHF specific processes and systems;
  • Ability to rapidly analyse and integrate diverse information.

Competencies:

  • Good communication and negotiation skills with the ability to persuade, influence and adapt communication style to different situations and individuals;
  • Excellent oral, editing and writing skills.
  • Well organized and detail oriented;
  • Ability to work independently and on a team with other Communications Officers and other units.

Essential:

  • Be professional, motivated, flexible and culturally sensitive
  • Be excellent in communication skills and proficient in report writing especially success stories.
  • Be resident and familiar with the terrain in the Northeast Nigeria.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programming (Access, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word).
  • Excellent communication, writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, coordination and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team, and establish effective working relationships with person of different national and culture background.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and simultaneously manage multiple tasks in an autonomous manner.
  • Previous work experience with INGO, NGO and Private Firm.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the local language (Kanuri, Hausa )
  • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Previous experience with similar position
  • This ToR shall be inclusive of any other task specifically assigned by the Project Manager and direct supervisor for what concerns the implementation of the program activities.

2.) LGA Team Lead

Location: Borno

Qualifications

  • Health professional (B.Sc, Public Health, Environmental Health, RN with an MPH is preferred) with strong public health background.
  • 3 – 4 years’ experience in coordinating, implementing and managing primary and secondary health programs
  • Experience in writing project proposals, concept notes, budgeting and donors’ reports.
  • Have experience in general management including financial and budget management, HR and logistics management.

Demonstrated Technical Skills:

  • Background in situation analysis, health assessments M&E and program implementation.
  • Demonstrated Managerial / Leadership Competencies:
  • Skills and experience of remote management and willingness to travel extensively
  • Flexible, diplomatic and have ability and willingness live and work under pressure of workloads.
  • Languages: English and local languages (Hausa, Kanuri and other local languages).

Computer / Other Tech Requirements:

  • Full professional competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

3.) M & E Assistant

Location: Borno

  Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Engineering Degree in Information and Technology Management, Statistics, or any other relevant equivalent degree.
  • Master’s Degree in relevant fields; Information and Technology Management, Statistics, Public Health, Engineering will be an added advantage.

5.) Community Health Volunteer (CHV)

Location: Borno

The Main Duties

  • Make visit homes, initiate dialogue with household members, determine the health situation, deliver key health messages, and undertake necessary actions;
  • Guide the community on health improvement and disease prevention;
  • Register households at frequencies stipulated in current guidelines
  • Collect data and relay information to stakeholders to inform programs and policies
  • Provide informal counseling, and referrals.
  • Create connections between vulnerable populations and healthcare providers
  • Help patients navigate healthcare and social service systems
  • Promote disease prevention and environmental sanitation
  • Community outreach by Participating and giving health education, promote breast feeding, and child spacing
  • Facilitate behavioral change among community members
  • Awareness raising by informing and educating about sexual and reproductive health to all population (PLWD, Men, Women, young boys and girls)
  • Provide effective emotional and social support.

Experience and Qualifications

  • SSCE Completed

6.) Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW)

Location: Borno

Job Description

  • They serve as counsellors, helping poor patients overcome the barriers that prevent them from seeking vital healthcare.
  • They act as healthcare educators, providing vital education about the healthcare options that are available.
  • They keep a lookout for people who show signs of developing a serious condition.
  • Promotion of health care access, patient engagement, and outcomes.
  • They supervise the treatment of patients living with terminal illness
  • Health promotion and disease prevention
  • Provision of therapeutic care for minor ailments
  • Identification of women in labour and serving as birth companions
  • Monitoring labour and conducting deliveries
  • Assessment for and prevention of postpartum haemorrhage
  • Assessment of postpartum sepsis in the early and late postpartum period
  • Promotion of breast feeding
  • Immediate care of the newborn
  • Health promotion and disease prevention
  • Identification of neonates with poor health status
  • Providing short-acting contraceptives

Education:

  • Certified Board Exams for Both JCHEW & SCHEW – Essential.

7.) M & E Officer

Position Requirements

  • The MEAL Officer WILL be working in all three locations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Engineering Degree in Information and Technology Management, Maths & Statistics, or any other relevant equivalent degree.

Location: Borno

Qualifications

  • A University Degree in Accounting. Professional certifications such as a fully qualified/almost qualified member of ICAN or other qualification recognized by IFAC is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in administration and financial management in the humanitarian sector, including experience in grant financial management aspect of international donor agencies.
  • Extensive experience in working with computerized accounting systems, preferably QuickPoint.

9.) HR and Admin Officer

Location: Borno

Position Requirements

  • In addition to the above, you should be educated to Bachelor’s Degree, HND, level in Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Business Administration and/or experienced in a relevant field to an equivalent level, and have a professional MBA, HR certification such as CIPM, its equivalent.

12.) Program Manager

Location: Borno

Educational and Experience    

  • A Degree in Public Health, International Relations, Gender Studies, International Development or a related field.
  • An advanced degree is desirable but not required for this position.
  • 5-7 years of advocacy/program experience required.
  • Experience in influencing the policy and practice of governments and institutions through campaigning, advocacy and/or policy development is a plus.

13.) Clinical Supervisor

Location: Borno

Position Requirements

  • Must possess a Medical Degree (MBBS, MBChB, or MBBCh) from a recognized institution.
  • Possession of an advanced degree/education in a Public Health, or HIV related field would be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of the vision 95-95-95 UNAIDS strategy.
  • Three years’ post NYSC experience in the direct provision of Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) services according to National guideline, the use of VL result to monitor PLHIV treatment outcome in an integrated community health centre setting according to national guideline.
  • Familiarity with community and facility based SRH, treatment and retention strategies.
  • Knowledge of current national and global SRH standards and licensure requirements.
  • Not less that 5 years of working experience both Public Health care parastatal, NGO, INGO.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian current National guidelines for prevention, treatment, and care.
  • Familiarity and Proficiency in the completion of all National patient management monitoring (PMM) tools during service provision.
  • Proven ability to work in a team with people of different cultural, religious background, lifestyles, and sexual orientation.
  • Treat beneficiaries with dignity and apply NHF Code of Ethics and Conduct, the UN Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in the field, including sensitizing Field Staffs and vendors/agents on such principles.
