JAMB has created a portal where Direct Entry candidates and post UTME candidates can check their admission status, result, and so on.

How to retrieve JAMB email address

See the steps below;

1. Your JAMB result: Your jamb email address is written on your jamb result slip. So, if you have printed your JAMB result, simply pick it up, find your JAMB email address on it.

2. Your JAMB examination slip: Your JAMB email address is written on your JAMB examination slip. This is the slip you used when you went to your JAMB exam centre. Simply pick-up the slip and find your JAMB email there.

Yes, you can do this by simply retrieving your password from the JAMB portal. Same as your email address, you might have forgotten your JAMB password. If yes, simply follow the instructions below;

Step 2: Click on the “Here” link to reset your password.

Responses You Get from JAMB CAPS Portal

1. CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED PROVISIONAL ADMISSION:

2. ADMISSION IN PROGRESS:

3. NOT ADMITTED:  

This is bad news for some people but this status is subject to change. It simply means have not been given admission yet. We advise you to check this page regularly to know when the status changes.

How to ACCEPT or REJECT Admission on JAMB CAPS Using Computer

If you want to use a computer or Laptop to accept or reject admission on JAMB CAPS, follow the instructions below;

1. Visit the official JAMB E-facility portal here.https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/.
2. Type in your JAMB Email Address and Password in the space required and click log in.
3. Check below and click on ‘Check Admission Status.
4. Select your JAMB exam year, type in your JAMB registration number in the space required and then click on the ‘Access my CAPS‘ button. jamb caps admission status
5. Select ‘Admission Status‘ on the left panel of your screen.
6. Find and click on the ‘Search’ button located in front of your JAMB Registration Number. This action will load your profile. jamb admission list
7. You can now accept/reject your admission offer under ‘Admission Profile’.

What to do if Your JAMB Admission Status shows ‘Not Yet Admitted’

1. Login into JAMB CAPS to verify your O’level result upload.

It’s important to verify whether your O’level result has been uploaded on the JAMB portal or not. As failure to upload your O’level result can affect your JAMB admission status.

1. Log-in to your JAMB profile (https://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility_/)
2. Click on ‘Check Admission Status,
3. Click on ‘Access my CAPS’
4. Click on ‘My O’level’ to confirm if your O’level is uploaded. If not visit any nearby accredited JAMB CBT centre to upload your O’level result. Admission cannot be processed for candidates whose O’level status in CAPS indicates ‘Awaiting Result’.

2. Check if you have been recommended for transfer to another program.

Based on the JAMB CAPS implementation policy, institutions have the right to consider some candidates for transfer from the choice programme to another programme because of UTME and O’level combinations.

Candidates are expected to monitor their admission by following the instructions a-c above, then click the ‘Transfer Approval’ link to know if they are recommended for transfer to another program. You are required to either accept or reject, this transfer consideration. If you accept, your first choice institution will be able to admit you to the new program. If you reject, you will remain in your preferred Course / Program. The program transfer will not be effected.

3. You applied for the JAMB UTME with awaiting result.

Candidates who used ‘awaiting result’ during their registration are to upload their O’Level result on the JAMB portal so that their institution of choice will process their admission. Direct-entry candidates including JUPEB students should also upload their A’level and O’level results to avoid disqualification. This is to enable the screening officers to determine their qualifications for admission.
