Some citizens in independent states like; China, Vietnam, and Nigeria among others have experienced smartphone explosions of various kinds.
Smartphones like Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy AO2, and other devices had blown several times in people’s pockets in this summer period.
Recently, one of the Airline’s flights in Alaska was vacated after a smartphone exploded in it. Other shocking records have been made about the explosion of smartphones, the question that will come to one’s mind is:-
What are the causes of these smartphone explosions?
A smartphone can explode as a result of various incidents of which include:-
Damage to the device battery:-
Most devices use Lithium-ion batteries which contain positive and negative electrodes and tabs, whenever anything goes wrong in the inner surface of the battery, an explosion tends to occur.
As a result of a volatile reaction in the battery, much heat is generated and the temperature of the battery rises beyond the normal level. As a result of this, explosions tend to occur. Excessive heat, therefore, stands to be another factor responsible for the explosion of smartphones.
Excessive heat:-
Heat links with other factors which made the explosion of smartphone batteries possible. A lot of individuals have been known for their ability to circumvent ways to make sure a faulty battery works at all costs. Some make wrong wiring into the battery structure, this will heat up with the panel of the phone and make it prone to explosion.
Overcharging:
Charging smartphones above the normal charging time/ temperature is also a cause for an explosion. These smartphones give several warning signs and signals against overcharging, deliberate disobedience to these warnings may lead to an explosion.
On the other hand, walking with smartphones with a high temperature in a tight pocket and at the same time under the direct reflection of sunlight is a way of aggravating the temperature of the smartphone.
These effects are man-made though; if care is not taken, we will continue to experience explosions of smartphones on various occasions.
Swollen Battery:
One might think of recharging a battery that had already swollen up, the result will be nothing but an explosion. The smartphones, however, have been automated to give warnings when there is any presumption of danger, failure to observe the warnings will do no good but harm.
The question then comes to mind;
What are the solutions to these smartphone explosions?
There are a lot of approaches to restricting smartphones from exploding, mind you; not all cases can be guaranteed because some problems are factory-based or from the manufacturer.
Taking Note 7 for example, there is no amount of steps taken to reduce the rate at which the phone increases in temperature that will ease it. Users of the phone will only have to maintain some do and don’t to keep their phones safe.
However, there are other solutions and guaranteed steps to take to avoid the explosions of smartphones. They include;
Do not expose your smartphone’s battery to unfavorable conditions:
There is no doubt that one of the worst enemies of smartphones is heat, therefore, users of phones like; the Samsung Galaxy s21, the iPhone 12, and the 12 pro max among others should prevent their phones from much direct contact with sunlight as these phones are optimized to work between 32 – 95 degree Fahrenheit.
Further attempts to expose the phone to excess heat will cause the phone long-term damage. As the phone should not be overheated, it must also not be frozen or refrigerated.

Follow the standardized battery management:
It is of no importance to be in unnecessary haste just to get the phone fully charged.
The smartphone of 5,000 Amp capacity for example will take long before it becomes weak if properly maintained.
Avoid over-charging, having the phone charged in the range of 30% – 80% is okay enough and very good compared to charging the phone to 100% daily. Putting good battery hygiene into practice is okay.

Do not charge the phone in a clustered and covered position:
A lot of people are fond of covering their phones with clothes while charging, this is a bad practice. Whenever the phone is to be charged, the best thing to do is to place it on a flat surface that supports ventilation and not in heat.
Final Words!!!!!!!!
The smartphone is made of inflammable materials and will of course explode when pushed by a force or when the situation that warrants the explosion comes in.
Users are therefore advised to be careful with their smartphones and embrace them with adequate maintenance to avoid stories that shock.
